Day 1 December 9, 2023

During the first day of this workshop, Lisa will instruct the class in the creation a ring and a pair of earrings that use tension settings for faceted stones. Demonstrations include the blue prints and measurements for each piece, use of burrs, precision sawing and light hammering techniques. Each student should have experience using a jeweler's saw.

Day 2 December 10, 2023

Our second workshop day is an open studio to give each student an opportunity to complete the ring and earring techniques taught by Lisa on Day 1 or to design and complete a second ring or another jewelry piece, such as a pendant. Work with fellow students and share ideas and camaraderie!

Lisa Johnson is the Director of Jewelry & Textiles at The Lighthouse Art Center in Tequesta, FL. After receiving her B.F.A. from Miami University and M.F.A. from Indiana University in Metalsmithing & Jewelry Design, she was awarded as Artist-In-Residence at Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts. She exhibits art and conducts workshops nationally. Recent publications featuring her work include Making Glass Jewellery, Metalsmith Magazine Exhibition in Print, On Body and Soul: Contemporary Armor to Amulets, 500 Necklaces, Humor in Craft, 500 Prints on Clay, New Earrings, and 500 Jewelry Designs.

Cancellation Policy

You may cancel with a refund 30 days prior to the start of the workshop. There will be a $25.00 processing fee deducted from your deposit. Send an email to Marshalevey@bellsouth.net with CLASS CANCELLATION in the subject line. There will be NO REFUND after this date unless the class is filled by another student. Class space cannot be sold to someone who is not on the wait list and who has not been approved by the workshop coordinator.

Release Policy

As part of the consideration addition to the registration fee paid to the Florida Society of Goldsmiths for giving the course which I have registered. I hereby release the Florida Society of Goldsmiths Board of Directors, its members, instructors, as well as a person or entity on whose property such course may be given, from any and all liability for personal injury or property damage that suffer or sustain due to negligence, or otherwise, in connection with any such course, whether by ingress or egress, attendance or otherwise, Florida Society of Goldsmiths reserves the right to substitute instructors and course specifics if necessary.
